Happy Toys

Found these happy creatures in a mall in the middle of Orchard Road over the weekend, celebrating some kind of launch of a next series of happy toys. I'm just naming all the toys "Happy Toys" cause they look so happy standing near one another.

I do know the Happy Toys with the horns are called evirob and are world famous la. Got people even want to queue up to ask for the autographs of the creators I think.

And then there's also Tofu Man (or at least I think that's the name). In the back pages of IdN, there's always 2 pages worth of Tofu man adventures; and the story always ends up in disaster (read: tofu boy tripping and spilling his tofu head all over space). Aiya, I don't know how it makes sense, but people love reading it la.

BTW, I just found out from a present copy of IdN tha Tofu man is actually called Coletto-fu.

So there was a toy figurine of a DJ too. Motorola also endorsed a couple of toy environment built ups.

Check out www.devilrobots.com - lots of happy pictures to see.

Stroopwaffles!

Alex, my Dutch 'buddy' during NUS time (2002) stopped over in Singapore for a business trip, and brought along a packet of this famous Dutch cookies. Yeh, one packet is all he brought. Bugger.

Literally it means 'syrup waffles' in English, and it's made of thinly sliced waffles stuck together with caramel syrup. Highly fattening, but super addictive.

Bring back a lot of memories during the times I was in Rotterdam.

Hope

Progressions

Hopefully, there's a light at the end of this tunnel.

I can't believe I work almost 15 hour work days nowadays.

That makes 70 - 75 hours a week, not including weekends. = (

The only people in life I meet these days are the taxi drivers who take me to/ fro work. What's more, today - the taxi driver, for some reason, cleared the meter and couldn't issue me a receipt. What luck.

Spend almost the entire day, sorry, that should be almost the ENTIRE WEEKEND at Woodlands under the SMRT Challenge tentage. It's huge ass but really warm.

Needed some air, looked up and realized that the palm trees had been planted so painstainkingly in rows along the sides of the roads around Causeway Point.

What makes your happy?

Are you really happy?

Sypnosis (the text extracted from ShinciNET and CINE21)

Clubbing in Guangzhou! Part 2

Yey! Finally I've finished the DUTY MONTH, and I feel a sense of relief - finally will be able to concentrate on real work. Have been bogged down by countless of people & having to fight their demands, and try to counter their whims and fancys.

So - back to Guangzhou-land, where the chinese babes (ok well, not that many actually) & chinese bugs rule: BEWARE THE LARGE NO OF PICTURES!

The Yoshitoshi banner right in front of the DJ Console.

Yey, random chinese babes ...

Warren, Bobo (She works at the Guangzhou Radio Station as the weather reporter! Haha!) & Kai Half-Dazed

Ben & Girlfriend, whom he didn't introduce to us!

The hot dancer! Where did she learn all the moves from??

DJ Kai & Remus (quite famous DJ in China/ HK)

Resident DJ Didnt-catch-his-name & Warren

That's Keishi The Manager, DJ Kai (DJ 1), Kiki (Groupie Girl 1), Violet (Groupie Girl 2) & Raji (DJ 2)

The huge ass banner in front of the club!

All in all, an excellent gig at Feelnet. The journey back to Hong Kong was even more amazing. We flagged down a cab from Guangzhou and told them to drive us to Shenzhen! That's a city away (2+ hour drive). Well, ok usually no one does that. We were racing against time to catch our arranged transport back to Hong Kong International Airport, as the boys had to fly up to Tokyo next.

Days later, I realized that when they landed at Narita Airport, there was an earthquake mins later, which shut down the train system. Kai & Raji ended up stuck in the train for couple of hours. Tales of a traveling DJ.

Numark iDJ iPod

Cool looking device, but apparantly STILL cannot adjust the pitch/ tempo. Then what's the bloody point??

Recently previewed at the AppleExpo, the cost is about US$250, and I'm sure will be out at your favourite Sim Lim store soon.
