I had the chance to grab quite a number of free deals from the internet called FreeCycle (you typically join the freecycle group of the area you live in). It basically works like eBay except you don't have to pay. So far, I've managed to get a 32inch Sony Trinitron TV, Ikea L shaped desk, one pair of speakers, 2 x amplifiers, one pair of Harman Kardon laptop speakers and some other random stuff.
