The $1 City

Waiting to board the flight to Sydney now in Brunei airport. This afternoon, Jason & I paid $25 for a city tour which lasted 2 hours. We visited a mosque (the sultan's mosque apparantly), a photo stop for the water village, and a night market ... anyway tot $25 was quite reasonable till we realised how cost of living here is neligible ... in fact it just cost $1.

Did you know petrol only cost 0.50 per liter? Reallly cheap ... and we also found out everything here cost only $1 .. well most things.

Education is free til University.

Visits to hospitals, clinics are only .. $1.

If you need surgery in case kena some bad ass disease, it only costs .... $1. Serious.

Brunei has so much money they don't really place a value to the item according to what they're really worth anymore. Hahhaha

I guess they don't want to be seen giving away free living, so they charge services for $1

So the last stop was the night market where the tour guide said there was food to buy ... Jason + 1 ran to the stores because we only had 5 mins ... guess what? Pack of chicken rice was only $1! haha. Jason bought a pack of economical rice with 2 meat, one vegetables and it only cost $1. But the bad thing was things were sold according to items, so my skewer of 5 fishballs was also $1. Chicken wing per pc was $1. Haha .. doesnt make much sense.

I wonder how much grads are paid ...

Met Jay Chou today ... !

Managed to snag passes to the private meet n greet session with Jay Chou today ... thanks to Ernest from Motorola & of course my colleague Hoi Shin for putting in a good word!

How to pass on the opportunity!

Anyway, he's staying at Fullerton tonight (can't say which room haha else Motorola folks kill me). So we waited 45 mins before my boss Ashley, Hoi Shin, Angeline and myself were scooted up to meet him in his hotel room.

Finally caught him in person, quite shy la, never say anything, he was happy to just sink into the 2 Motorola backdrops. We walked over, took 3 photos (instant ones, each for 3 of us). After which, i had to reach out my hand to say thank you, and shook his hand. However, his handshake was kinda limp and cold.

Well ok la, at least i touched Jay Chou before hor. Hahaaaaa!

Myself, Angeline, Jay and Hoi Shin

Myself, Angeline looking dunno where, Jay looking pretty much the same & Hoi Shin

No more fair!

Finally, my 2 biggest projects in singtel is done .. what a hectic month it has been and came out alive out of it. 18 hour work days ain't fun man ...

Melbourne + Sydney this week .. woooooo!
