Once again, I takes ages to update this page, aplogies yet again. I dun figure that many people actually bothers to read about the life and mundaness of the life of Keishi, right ?

Just returned from a gig @ Centro entitled Klarity Welcomes Everybody. It's a first step in pushing progressive house to the masses. Although it is the Zoukout weekend (and I was supposed to be spinning right this very moment ... but that's besides the point), the turnout was quite good, and we had a packed dance floor most of the time. Comparing gigs in Hong Kong and Singapore, I think the Singapore crowd is harder to please - variety seems to be the way to go, Singaporeans get bored easily, I find. But melody is the way to go for me at the moment, I seem to be throwin in lots of Sasha and James Holden stuff at the moment, they really get me going.

But overall I was feeling a bit under the weather and at the moment, a lot of issues are on my mind. Hence I dun think I played the best of sets today. The HK one is hard to beat at the moment! = p

But there is something I would like to discuss here and perhaps, defend myself, on the issue of professionalism and co-petition.

Recently I was pulled out of a biggish event, and despite attempts at not being part of "politics", I am somehow drawn into it beyond what I can do. Contary to what some people believe, the only reason why I like being what I do (that is dj-ing) is because of the music. I think many people can also say that, but act otherwise in the face of business profits or saving one's face.

After I was contacted to spin at the event, I was happy to represent my website as well as (in the larger scale) my country. Everything aside, I JUST wanted to spin good music to the crowd, and help to make the event a little better from whatever way I could. I guess there has got to be a reason why I was booked in the first place right ?

So a week later, I was told that I has 'cheated' the organization and has acted in a unprofessional way in not declaring my personal interests towards a rival club. All things aside once again, at that time or even this very minute, I am not officially with any other club. Even back then, nothing was confirmed. How reasonable is it for me to declare such an issue to anyone, be it a friend, or colleague, something that is not even 20 % confirmed? I rest my case, as much as I respect the organization, I bear no personal grudges towards anyone. Whatever that has been done was probably due to purely business actions and reactions - or so I hope.

Hence I would declare now I had no intention to 'deceive' anyone at any point of time, and I sincerly hope business decisions aside, the love and unity for our love for dance music holds first place.

Oh hello! I realised that I have not been updating this for so long, so ... I should now.

I just got back from Hong Kong yesterday and it was a fantastic "tour". It was really an urban jungle of heat and rushy people. The gig went really well, and it was really nice to meet Yin, Tak and Jimi, and of course Rocky, director of Queens. King of Queens?

Enjoyed myself, was quite a good sound system with good visuals behind me, plus fantastic warm up by Jimi which really got everyone on the floor. I really threw eveything i had to keep things going on , and kept pushing things up a notch higher. Sometimes, I tried to put in some rocking, but otherside long-ish tracks, and I think the crowd slowed a little. Overall things really kicked in after - kept getting more and more crowded, and also met quite a few "ravers". Respects to all, thanx for the great support!! = )

Pictures plus nice review of HK city at GarageSaleShop.com soon ...

Saturday - not much is going this week, but I did hear that Dimitri @ Lola was really good. ZoukIn @ Zouk was obviously quite a good party as well - so should be rocking. Chanced upon the Very Girlie fan-flyer yesterday, and it's looks really interesting.

Anyway, on the progressive side of things, Andy Jarrod, owner of 3 Beat records worldwide and Dj producer extrodinaire is in Singapore today. Would love to interview him but I think I am kinda busy this evening.

So this week I am on the deperate lookout for more upfront and rockin vinyls. Need some more stuff to rock Hong Kong next Sat!

Woo ... let me know if you need me to look out for anything for you when I am there ... = )

so far .. one order for multi-ending Cantonese version of Infernal Affairs, a couple of "I love HK" t shirts, magnets .. etc can't remember the rest .

Have a great weekend

Bad news today.

Worldwide - people are dying, there are a couple of flash floods + typhoons and a girl was even found sexually assualted at at McRitchie Reservoir area 2 mornings ago, plus today, I was pulled out of Zoukout.

Guess days cannot get worse than this.

Apparantly there had been rumours that I was going to join a competitor club in Singapore and questions were raised like why I was playing for Zoukout when I was going to work for another club. As far as I know, at this minute as this moment, I am still working in a trading company in the most glamorous part of town called Jurong East.

If I am given the opportunity to base myself in the thriving industry be it in any club - why not? So I shd give my assurance that I am not in any other contract besides the one that I have doing global sourcing and selling. And hell - it's not good news after a hard day trying to keep myself awake at work all the time.

So anyway - I hope things get better from now (or so I hope) but still I would have loved the opportunity to represent Singapore for Zoukout. Politics aside that is ... = )

Moving along, least is that HK trip to spin @ Queens is definitley confirmed. So I will be also staying there for a few days to 'get away from things' here.

Looking forward very much to it - maybe I shd just shut up now, case anyone take a nice stab in the back once again.

Cheers,
Keishi

Today, I also just received news of confirmation of my gig in Queens Club Hong Kong for July 12th. Highlight for this year so far, well 2 weeks later Ill be back in Singapore to play ZoukOut - so I guess for this month, I am a regional-trotting DJ ... *kidding* = P

My gig @ Amara Hotel last Friday was one of the worst gigs I had in my life, but I met some real nice people there who had nice words for me which I really appreciate. Cheers and hope to see you guys soon. The system sucked, and even though I mixed it in, the CD player (AMERICAN DJ) started skipping my itself. I had no choice but to stop the track which incidentally is one called "Greek Salad".

July will be one of the most exciting months in my life, and this includes a dumb ass IPPT Army Physical Test plus reservist training just 2 days before Zoukout. What pure fun. RATS ....

To end off once again, a humble update on KEISHI's SPIN DATES

July 12th - Queen's Club @ Hong Kong
July 25th for ZOUKOUT NOKIA REMIX - Regional Tent representing Singapore @ Marina Bay Waterfront, Singapore

August 22nd for Fluid @ Tunnel [ - ]

October 3rd for Fluid @ Tunnel [ - ]

November 24th (Public Holiday Eve) for Fluid @ Tunnel [ - ]

Cheers!

See ya!
