Ready for New Chocolate?

Sorry I haven't had any worthy entries for a while. Work's been busy and all I wanna do is to have a couple of shots of freezing-cold vodka on the weekends.

Anyway, for those techies out there, I've got some nice preview shots of CommuniAsia from earlier this evening.

Good thing the crowds are not in yet till tomorrow, so I took my time to browse the booths. I couldn't do the close ups though. Bad news is that since the crowds aren't in yet, there are no hot phone promoter chicks to ogle at too. Bah!

Anyway, Samsung has unleased this amazing looking booth (my personal opinion) with a huge ass digital signage which goes around the entrance bend. Really cool stuff

And I think they're really at the forefront of integrating their phones with high megapixel camera. Check it out! A 10 & 7 megapixel camera-phone showcase too.

And to top up the event experience, they have installed numerous touch screens around the booth. It's kinda plain looking from here but wait till you put your finger on the screen. The animation's is just a little short of how I would describe as stunning.

Just across Samsung, there's their competitor LG which has equally a majestic build up, complete with a 1.5 m high stage for breakdancers, beat boxers and what-have-you. Their booth has typically attracted a lot of audiences year to year, but funnily enough, it does not translate to high sales at the shops. Guess Singapore never really took on to LG's phones. Who owns a LG phone anyway?

Anyway, the 'hero' mobile model this year for LG is undoubtedly the Chocolate phone - the one that Kenny Sia is endorsing on his blog. Who knows - maybe he might make a guest apperance at the LG booth over the next couple of days?

There's lotsa other phone manufacturers how-lianing their products. If you can't rebothered to look out for new phones, at least go check out the hot babes. Or if you're gay or something, just go and get the tons of freebies like notepads, tote bags, pens ...

No more bulging trousers

Sony T5

I finally decided to replace my thick ass Sony P10 camera with a new 'slim-as-Fiona Xie' Sony T5 (5.1 MP). It's not the best of the T range but it definitley suffices for my party n travel needs.

Not only that, after living with a miserly 64MB memory stick for the past 2 years, I actually got a 1GB Free Memory Stick Pro Duo when I bought it at the PC Show last weekend. No more worries about running out of memory space!

Did I forget to mention I got a free tripod, lens cleaner, camera case + screen protector too? All for $499 ...

Starting Cantonese Band

Was walking to the bus stop behind Cineleisure after the Apple workshop I attended at iShop this evening and then I heard some band performing some Cantonese song at the Youth Park. Another one of the locations where local talents can 'channel' their energy towards meaningful activity.

These guys were rather talented (rhythm wise lah) but akin to most local bands I have heard/ seen so far, I could hardly make out what they were muttering/ uttering.

Oh well, so here are the guys:

Being part of the Singapore Street Festival and all, you would probably expect a decent crowd, right?

Alamak. What's wrong with the scene here?? Guess not many people knew about the st fest as well. Not much publicity so far. Nothing ground breaking as compared to previous years except some belly dancing thing .... which is kinda odd. Who belly dances in the streets? Not in Singapore's streets at least.

Here's another view from the bus stop ...

Well, there were probably 20 odd people sitting on the benches around the area. Think that girl in front of the stage is prob one of the singer's girlfriend or something. Think quite hot. Maybe I shd start a Cantonese band too. Anyway my Cantonese half past six, so I could most definitely mumble if I can't remember the lyrics.
